Staking

CAREL Protocol has four staking contracts — each accepts a different asset and earns points at different rates. Staking increases your points multiplier, which increases your share of the monthly airdrop.

Staking CAREL unlocks a global multiplier applied to all your points:

How to Stake

1. Go to the Stake tab in the CAREL app
2. Select the asset you want to stake
3. Enter the amount
4. Click Stake and approve the transaction in your wallet
5. Your staked balance appears immediately — points start accruing in the current epoch

Unstaking

You can unstake at any time. There is no lock-up period on testnet. Unstaking reduces your multiplier if your remaining balance drops below a tier threshold.

Why Stake

Staking serves two purposes:

1. Points multiplier — higher stake = higher multiplier on all your actions = larger share of the monthly airdrop
2. Protocol participation — staked assets contribute to protocol TVL and signal long-term alignment

At mainnet, staking rewards may include a share of protocol swap fees in addition to points — subject to governance vote.

Staking and the Discount NFT

The Discount Soulbound NFT gives fee discounts on swaps and limit orders. Staking gives points multiplier. They stack — you can hold a Tier 5 NFT and stake 10,000 CAREL simultaneously for maximum fee reduction and points earning.
